The semantic structure of the polysemantic verb to break in the modern English language

The verb as part of speech has been a subject of the linguistic studies for many years, Polysemantic verbs can be found in the vocabulary of all the languages. However, the linguists do not study the nature and semantic peculiarities of these words, their lexical compatibility and pragmatics. This article describes the semantics of the English verb to break. The author of the article will dwell on the concept of polysemy, will describe the main components of the lexical meaning, will determine the semantic structure of the English verb to break will analyze the denotative, significant and pragmatic senses of the verb to break.
