the article describes an intelligence experiment related to the system of formation of readiness for professional self-education of University students. The experiment was based on finding out the need for a special manual, its scope, structure and content, as well as the development of tools, identifying the development of the relevant components of the system. The results of the experiment are relevant in modern conditions of distance education.
