Chernikova Larisa Petrovna  (Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Senior Researcher, Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow))

Documentary sources in the study of the history of the Russian presence in the Far East are dedicated to China and Mongolia. Documents from the Foreign Policy Archive of the Russian Federation and the Foreign Policy Archive of the Russian Empire offer documents on the foreign policy of the Russian Empire, later the USSR, in Russian / Soviet-Chinese-Mongolian relations. It would seem that Russian-Mongolian foreign policy is separate from Russian-Chinese relations, but in fact it directly depends on the connection with China and with Russian penetration into the Far East. Documentary sources also provide the Archives of the FSB and other materials from the archives, which are reflected in the publication of new reference books and collections. The article was prepared to help young people and young specialists - students, undergraduates and graduate students on the topics of the foreign policy of Russia-USSR with China and Mongolia in the first. half of the twentieth century.

Keywords:Mongolia, China, Russia, USSR, foreign policy, sources of research.
