Professional training of music teachers is a versatile and creative process. It includes many areas, such as instrumental and vocal training, the study of pedagogical technologies for working with children, the study of masterpieces of world musical art, the study of digital resources and much more. The author of this article tries to comprehend the term “professional competence” and apply it to the field of music and pedagogical education. The article raises the issues of theoretical and practical training of future teachers of music and touches on the specific features of musical education as well.
