This article presents the results of a study of university management through the prism of a set of organizational culture, behavioral practices, traditional and innovative values; determined a number of determinants of the nature of the educational process in universities; it is shown that the process of managing the educational process in universities is due to the presence of certain complexities of interactions between managers and teachers of universities in solving key issues of their development; it is substantiated that the system of forms and methods of university management is characterized by inconsistency between the subjects of education regarding its main goals, values and ways of development.
