Methods and means of project management in the field of education

One of the important areas of management activity is the project. The article highlights the basic concepts, characterizes the main areas of project management and provides a classification of projects in the field of education. There are three groups of project management methods: non-formalized, formalized and mixed. The expediency of using tools for project management in educational activities is described. To achieve high-quality results, it is advisable to use appropriate methods and means at each stage of its implementation. Typical projects in the field of education are educational, innovative, social and grant projects, a brief description of which is given in the article. Each of the listed projects has specific features, which are presented in the form of requirements. The paper proposes a generalized model for managing projects implemented in the field of education, which will allow, on the one hand, to carry out high-quality project management at its various stages, on the other hand, to increase the overall efficiency of the event. Approbation of the proposed model took place during the implementation of the career guidance project “And I was there!” within the framework of the Science Week of the Department of Physics and Mathematics, Natural Science and Technology Education of the Pedagogical Institute of the Irkutsk State University. Based on the results of the project, a decision was made on the expediency of holding this event annually.
