the presented article is devoted to the history of the development of collective farms in the Far North before and during the Great Patriotic War on the example of the Salekhard collective farm «Red October», which is described on the basis of an analysis of archival materials stored in the State Archive of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The paper deals with the issues of agricultural production activities of the collective farm, in particular, the main activities and their role in the functioning of the enterprise are identified. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that it was written on the basis of actual data on the activities of the Salekhard collective farm «Red October». In particular, this article provides information on the material and technical base of the collective farm, the number of households located in Salekhard and joined the collective farm, and the nationality of the collective farmers. This paper also provides information on the fishing grounds of the enterprise, indicates the territories that during the war years were used by collective farmers for fishing and for animal husbandry, as well as hunting and polar agriculture. The information presented in the article may be of interest to both professional historians and specialists in related disciplines dealing with the problems of the development of the regions of the Far North in the Soviet era.
