The satirical potential of mythological imagery in the poem "Dushenka" by I.F. Bogdanovich

The article puts forward a hypothesis regarding the original idea of the poem “Dushenka” by I.F. Bogdanovich (around 1775). An assumption, based on the analysis and historical facts, is made: the mythological basis of the poem might become the basis for satires on the reign of Catherine the Second. But subsequently it began to be perceived as a complimentary production.
