Agricultural products in the food of the indigenous people of the gorny Altai (XIX – early XX century)

Food from agricultural crops occupied a significant place in the diet of the indigenous people of the Gorny Altai in the XIX century and early XX century. The Altaians made talkan and cereals from barley and wheat. Flour products were also prepared from unleavened dough, which were baked in ash or fat, cow butter. Close cultural and economic relations with the Russian community have led to the appearance of various bakery products, porridge, kissel, etc. in the food of the indigenous people.
