In recent decades, women's prose has attracted even more attention from literary critics. In Chinese literary criticism Petrushevskaya is regarded as a representative of contemporary women's prose in Russia, and her prose is characterized by postmodernist features. In the last decade her name has been seen noticeably more often in Chinese literary journals and research papers of Chinese students. But in general, the writer and her works have been insufficiently studied in China, which makes the translation and scientific activities of Chinese literary critics particularly relevant. This article examines in detail the state of translation and study of the writer's prose in China. The analysis is based on the materials of the CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), China's largest and most visited scientific electronic library. According to the results of the study, it is concluded that although many well-known stories of Petrushevskaya were translated into Chinese, there are still some famous works such as Your Circle, Medea, etc., which Chinese readers should get acquainted with. Moreover, current research on prose of Petrushevskaya in China is mainly focused on thematic and stylistic analyses, it is important to broaden and extend this field of study. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of Petrushevskaya's works in China and expands our understanding of intercultural communication.
