The purpose of the study is to substantiate the effectiveness of the competence approach by regionalizing the content of education to increase the competitiveness of middle–level specialists. The author uses methods of analysis and scientific observation of the process of training specialists in the system of secondary vocational education of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on the example of the specialty “Law and organization of social security”. To determine the results of the study, the diagnosis of the level of formation of key competencies affecting the competitiveness of future lawyers was carried out. It is proved that the regionalization of the content of education contributes to an increase in the level of development of general and professional competencies that determine the competitiveness of future specialists in the regional labor market. As a result, the influence of the regionalization of the content of humanitarian and general professional disciplines on the development of general and basic professional competencies that form the competitiveness of future lawyers in the regional labor market is proved. Conclusion: the regionalization of the content of the mandatory and variable parts of the training program for mid-level specialists contributes to increasing their competitiveness in the regional labor market
