The article deals with the results of the research devoted to the study of such phono-morphological phenomenon as reduplication in the English language. The authors of the article consider the structure of the functional-semantical field of reduplication paying attention to the types of reduplicates which are integral to the core and the peripheral zones of the above-mentioned field. From the point of view of its functional aspect reduplicates are considered to be the means of representation of semantics of such categories as emotive function, authenticity, intensity, expressiveness.
