The article is devoted to the justification of the authors’ hypothesis that the visual anchor is indeed an effective way for students to remember information. The hypothesis suggests that the visual anchor-image simplifies the process of the assimilation of the complex socio-political and sociological concepts by the students regardless, if it relates to the topic of the lecture or not. The visual anchor-image also stimulates the work of the students’ cognitive function by launching of the associative thinking and memory mechanisms. The visual anchor-image means in this piece a world-known masterpiece of art that has enough artistic power and expression to trigger those mechanisms on its own. In this article, authors have heavily relied on the results of the studies on the effectiveness of the information visualization in the learning process; however they have considered this phenomenon from a novel point of view. The hypothesis was substantiated by the results of the theoretical and practical studies. The initial assumption was confirmed during the lectures on the hybrid wars.
