In this article the analysis of the terminology of the sports complex of gymnastic sports is presented, the terminological apparatus of which, in view of the specifics of the objects of the nomination (performing the figures of various exercises, the need for their precise and brief designation), is a practical novelty. The study of the features of term formation allows us to further consider the systematization, formation and evolution of the terminologies of gymnastic sports. The foregoing, as well as the lack of development of practical aspects of private terminology, determines the relevance of the study, which made it possible to determine and analyze the terminological features term systems of gymnastic sports and highlight as identifying such methods of term formation as semantic, syntactic, morphological, word formation and borrowing from other areas of activity, abbreviation, nomination by the first performer, as well as the multicomponent of terms included in terminological nests and united by single-word nuclear terms.
