The purpose of the article is to reveal the potential of extracurricular activities in the process of forming students' social and personal competencies. The authors proceed from the idea that a modern specialist must possess not only professional competencies, but also certain personal characteristics that contribute to his adaptation to the changing requirements of employers. The article interprets the concept central to the job, presents the features of students’ extracurricular activities organization, aimed at the formation of students' supra-professional competencies corresponding to the content of socio-cultural competence.
