The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of slang and literary English. Particular attention is paid to a comprehensive study of all possible ways of communication, which may differ in the degree of officiality, the level of knowledge of the language, context and other parameters. Showing the similarities and differences of common forms of language - literary and slang. This article shows the history and nature of slang in the English language, its various forms and the impact it has on the development of speech culture.
The author comes to the conclusion that the English language, rich and dynamic, is in the process of continuous development, and one of the ways of its formation is the use of slang as an additional means of communication.
This topic is relevant, since the comparison of slang and literary English forms a more complete picture of the system of a foreign language and contributes to effective communication in a variety of conditions and with different audiences, as well as rapid learning of foreign languages.
