The article examines the structural, semantic, linguistic and pragmatic features of the speech genre "letter to a Russian soldier". The aim of the study is to carry out a linguistic analysis of letters to a Russian soldier at the front from the point of view of the epistolary tradition and the parameters of the communicative-semiotic model of describing the genres of natural written speech. The novelty of the research is represented by the tasks set, as well as relevant and original material: handwritten and printed letters in support of soldiers of the Russian army from citizens of various age groups.
