PROVERBS AND SAYINGS WITH THE CORE COMPONENT-TOPONYM AS A MEANS OF REPRESENTATION OF THE CONCEPT SPACE IN RUSSIAN LINGUISTIC CULTURE

Modern Russian linguistic science is increasingly turning to the description of various concepts. One of the most significant concepts, which play an important role in Russian linguistic culture, is the concept SPACE. It reflects the understanding and evaluation of the lexicon of spatial semantics by native speakers of the Russian language. Proverbs and sayings with the core component-toponym is an important way of representation of this concept. In the present article we investigate how the analysis of proverbs helps to reconstruct the concept "SPACE", which is a part of the core of the Russian language picture of the world.
