The article considers the problems of developing the social infrastructure of the new cities of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra in the post-Soviet years. The author identified the positive aspects of the ongoing activities in this direction, as well as identified the existing problematic aspects, among which the selective implementation of activities is noted only in large cities of the region. The prospect of solving many existing problems through the implementation of the Smart City program is noted.
