the article considers the issue of distinguishing semantic and functional homogeneity; it is remarked the absence of works on this topic which involve phraseological material. The author points out that there is a general discussion in linguistics related to the status of sentences with a homogeneous series of predicates. Based on the extensive analyzed material of the lexical-phraseological series of predicates, the author concludes about the predominance of connective relations in speech within such series. The means of expression of intra-series relations are analyzed in details and it is emphasized the role of conjunctions in the expression of relations. It is underlined that the relations within the series form a whole system.
