DICHOTOMY «ISKUSSTVO» AND «REMESLO» / “ART” AND “CRAFT” IN THE RUSSIAN AND THE ENGLISH PHRASEOLOGICAL WORLDVIEWS

The main aim of the article is to examine the dichotomy «iskusstvo» and «remeslo» / “art” and “craft” in the Russian and the English phraseological worldviews. The scientific topicality is that for the first time the above-mentioned dichotomy is explored on the case of phraseological units of the both languages. To investigate the dichotomy «iskusstvo» and «remeslo» / “art” and “craft” an analysis of the organised corpus of the phraseological units was done (with the help of dictionaries) and coincident and unique features of the notions «iskusstvo» and «remeslo» / “art” and “craft” were revealed in the both linguocultures. In addition, we have found that there is a coincident feature of the phraseological units in the dichotomy “art” and “craft” – “deception”; in the dichotomy «iskusstvo» and «remeslo» any coincident features were not revealed on the case of the analysed phraseological units.
