oral folk art occupies an important place in the culture of the Mansi people. "Folklore works, as it is known, have existed since ancient times and are transmitted from person to person every time. Folklore is a collective creativity, therefore it accumulates the imprint of the time period of the creation of the work, many cultural and ethnographic features are reflected in the texts. Of course, folklore reflects the beliefs of the Mansi people, in their plots various aspects of many rituals and customs are explicated. Thus, information about the life of previous generations is transmitted through the prism of these texts» [19-20].
The article is devoted to the study of the vocabulary of the plant world in Mansi folklore. The relevance of the research is determined by the fact that the theme is insufficiently studied in Mansi philology. The theoretical and practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of applying its results in the development of a course of lectures on the Mansi language and folklore, in the practice of university and school teaching. The obtained results can be used in the compilation of thematic dictionaries, in the preparation of dictionary entries in lexicographic publications, compilation of textbooks on the courses of lexicology and grammar of the modern Mansi language.
