Proverbs and sayings about heroism, patriotism, love for the Motherland, for the native land represent a significant part of the plot-thematic repertoire of aphoristic sayings that exist in the folklore of the peoples of Dagestan, in particular the Dargins. The favorite hero in them is a warrior, defender of his Homeland, native land, village. The Dargins call him "ghabza", "gIyaHigahza" (brave, hero, hero, well done). The purpose of this article is to analyze the ideological, thematic and artistic richness of proverbs and sayings of heroic and patriotic content, to consider the issues of their origin, as well as the features of their poetic and figurative system.
