This article is devoted to the peculiarities of the use of verbs with the meaning “to worry” in Chinese. In all languages, there are words with similar meanings, which are often called synonyms. Synonyms, in turn, form synonymous rows. Neglect or ignorance of synonyms leads to incorrect, inaccurate translation of the sentence as a whole. That is why the study and identification of synonymous series is important. The article examines in detail the use of synonymous verbs 担忧 and 担心, identifies stable phrases with these words, and provides illustrative examples. It should be remembered that words, being synonyms, will have differences in use. Therefore, this study can help future sinologists when translating both from Russian into Chinese and from Chinese into Russian.
