The aim of the research is to study the poetic heritage of the era of war communism and the new economic policy, who formed in their works the image of one of the main revolutionary figures of our country - Lev Davidovich Trotsky.
The choice of the chronological framework is explained by the fact that before 1917 there could not have been such literary works in principle, since the future founders of the Soviet state, Trotsky was one of the most significant, were considered by both the tsarist and the Provisional government as illegal underground workers, extremists, which, accordingly, could not contribute to the development of literary creativity in relation to to them. Before this historical period, their contribution to socially significant historical processes was not as significant as after they came to power in 1917, and they have not yet acquired special fame among the masses, among the creative intelligentsia.
The basis for writing the article was collections of literary works of Soviet poets published in the first half of the 1920s, periodical materials in which poetic works about the personality of Lev Trotsky, archival documents, letters from private individuals addressed to the chairman of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Soviet Republic Lev Trotsky, in which there are poetic lines about him, were found.
The theoretical and practical significance of the work lies in the study of the image of Trotsky, which was formed in the works of Soviet poets of the first post-revolutionary decade, who assessed Trotsky as the leader of the revolution, enriching knowledge about rethinking the role and significance of the activity of this personality in the history of our country.
