Analyzing phraseological units, the author of the article focused on expressions with the keyword “gold”, which are widely used in both Russian, English and Persian. Analysis of the meanings contained in phraseological units with the element “gold” in different systems of languages proves that in every language and culture there are unique idiomatic expressions, proverbs or metaphors associated with gold. It is important to learn the specific phraseology of each language to fully understand the nuances and cultural associations associated with the element «gold». Thus, phraseological units with “gold” can have different basic semes depending on the context and culture. In the process of analyzing Russian, English and Persian phraseology with the element “gold”, we identified the following main groups: Phrase phrases with the seme ‘harmony’: golden mean - a way of action, behavior, devoid of extremes; Phrase phrase with the seme ‘man’; Phrase phrase with the seme ‘happiness’; Phrase phrases describing relationships with gold; Phrase phrase with the seme ‘valuable’: worth its weight in gold – very valuable; very expensive; Phrase phrase with the seme ‘money’; Phrase phrases associated with wealth; PU with the seme ‘natural resources; Phrases that often express a negative attitude towards the pursuit of wealth, to the detriment of morality and human relationships.
