MAIN TRENDS IN AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE ALTAI REPUBLIC IN 1998–2015

The article is devoted to the consideration of the dynamics of the main indicators of agricultural development of the Altai Republic in the period 1998–2015. Based on official state statistics, it was concluded that there was a reduction in the fleet of agricultural machinery and a decrease in the volume of crop production in the region. The article shows that the republic's livestock farming has shown high adaptive capabilities in the context of industry transformation, which is reflected in the stabilization and upward trend in livestock production volumes since 1999. It was established that the process of disaggregation of agricultural production continued in the republic, and an increase in its indicators in peasant (farm) farms was noted. The main producers of agricultural products were households.
