This article describes the characteristic features of the implementation of the traditions of romanticism in the lyrics of M. Lermontov. Using various methods of literary criticism, the author finds out that in the lyrics of most of M. Lermontov uses and reveals characteristic romantic motifs and themes and. An attempt is also made to systematize romantic themes and motifs, to identify the uniqueness of their refraction in the writer’s works.
