THE REVOLUTIONS OF 1917 AND THE FATE OF THE RUSSIAN FILM INDUSTRY

The article raises insufficiently studied issues of the state and development of Russian pre-revolutionary cinema on the eve and during the revolutions of 1917, on the issue of uniting film industry workers into creative and professional unions, establishing a working control and nationalization of cinematographic property, the fate of the most famous cinema figures in a difficult period of history, the attitude of the new government to cinema.
