SOCIOLINGUISTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CHUVASH LANGUAGE

This article is intended to determine and describe the sociolinguistic characteristics of the Chuvash language. For that purpose, the author identifies the relationship between the Chuvash language and ethnos, the demographic and functional power of the Chuvash language, and today’s development issues related to it. Through a comparative analysis of the data gathered, Chuvash language are sociolinguistically characterized and the peculiarities of the linguistic situation in the Republic are highlighted.
