LINGUO-SEMANTIC FEATURES OF DISEASE TERMINOLOGY IN RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES

The article deals with linguistic and semantic features of disease terms in Russian and English. Some broad tendencies in medical term formation, the most productive ways of naming are described. The eponym’s role is analyzed. Differential characteristics of perception of various health conditions, examples of imagery and synonymy are defined.
