The article deals with the problem of increasing the efficiency of learning higher mathematics course of 108 academic hours (one semester) by students of architectural specialities of higher education institution. Specific methods of forming personal motivation of students to serious and deep study of the subject are proposed. Difficulties encountered by students of architectural specialities in higher mathematics classes and ways of their solution are noted. The importance of encouraging students for personal achievements in the learning process is emphasised. The results of application of the proposed methodology are analysed.
