This article is devoted to the identification of the Adyghe names of the dendronym "mistletoe" in the texts of the Nart legends of the Adygs, their linguistic, historical and etymological research. A linguistic and historical analysis of the identified Adyghe nominations of the dendronym "mistletoe" – gyo, agyo, yagyo, gyons, kugyu / kugyo, kurgyo, myagyo, zhyhkug, khujeykug showed that in all words the common part is gyu / gyo, which coincides with the Shapsug name of mistletoe. The study found that the Adyghe Nart epic is dominated by the variant "kurgyo", which is mainly used in combination with geographical objects or in toponymic terms. It is concluded that the root of a word can have many meanings, and the base expresses a specific meaning.
