COGNITIVE AND FUNCTIONAL FEATURES OF SLANG VOCABULARY IN MODERN YOUTH DISCOURSE

The article examines the cognitive and functional features of slang vocabulary. The concept of slang is considered through the prism of social characteristics as a phenomenon separate from the generally accepted norms of the literary language, having its own structure. The functions of slang vocabulary are analyzed in terms of their effectiveness, which makes it possible to study slang vocabulary as a tool for influencing participants in youth discourse.
