This article examines the vocal teaching reform in a Chinese higher education institution in the context of the state program of the government of the People's Republic of China "Internet +". At the beginning of the work, the program is characterized, and its key advantages are identified both in education in general and in vocal pedagogy in particular. Then, such difficulties as the transfer of traditional teaching methods to the Internet space, insufficient number of necessary resources, its own disadvantages of distance learning, little correspondence of the currently adopted curriculum to the distance learning format, existing prejudices on the part of teachers towards distance education technologies are revealed. At the end of the article, practical recommendations are given for solving the listed problems and contradictions to improve the efficiency of the vocal teaching system in a Chinese university.
