THE FATE OF THE NATIONAL ALTAI INTELLIGENTSIA IN THE 1920s–1930s. VASILY KONDRATIEVICH MANEEV

The article is devoted to the study of the biography of a prominent public figure of Gorny Altai of the revolutionary and post revolutionary times Vasily Kondratyevich Maneyev, taking into account the involvement of new documents. Using his biography as an example, the fates of representatives of the generation of the national intelligentsia who entered into conscious life in pre-revolutionary times are shown. The publication concludes that the campaign of «General Purge» of the ranks of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) that began in the summer of 1929 led to the displacement of «old» cadres of specialists who could represent political disloyalty to the Bolshevik state.
