The article investigates the peculiarities of the history of translation of ancient Chinese mythology in Russia. The author emphasizes that in Russia the most important translations of ancient Chinese mythology are such translations as «Myths of Ancient China» (Yuan Ke) and «The Book of Mountains and Seas» (E.M. Yanshina). The author also emphasizes the role of B.L. Riftin in the development of the translation of ancient Chinese mythology in Russia. Based on the conducted research, it is concluded that the dissemination and translation of ancient Chinese mythology in Russia is a great achievement for the knowledge of Chinese culture and heritage, however, the author highlights some problems and difficulties in the implementation of translation.
