RUSSIAN EXPERIENCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTHERN BLACK SEA REGION IN THE XVIII CENTURY

The purpose of the article is to highlight the key issues in the study of the process of incorporation of the Northern Black Sea region into the Russian Empire in the XVIII century. Important attention is paid to the problem of identifying the model of imperial integration of the region, which means methods of inclusion, retention mechanisms, management organization, as well as measures taken by central and regional authorities to maintain ethnopolitical stability in the Northern Black Sea region. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the approach to studying the dynamics of the formation of universal and unified political, legal and socio-cultural standards (imperial) in the region, the degree of transformation of traditional societies under the influence of this process. The model of imperial integration of the Northern Black Sea region in the XVIII century is considered by the authors on the basis of the concept of administrative and territorial integration of the region by A.V. Remnev, the functional analysis of the empire as a political system by S. Kaspe and the general stages of Russia's policy towards its outskirts by J.B. Kundakbayeva.
