The article investigates lexical markers of credibility in Chinese online news media discourse, represented in the online version of 人民日报 “People's Daily” newspaper. The primary focus is on analyzing linguistic means used to express reliability and verifiability of information in the context of China's digital media space transformation. The author systematizes and classifies credibility markers considering their thematic specificity.
The research aims to identify the functional features of markers reflecting the credibility of online news texts, as well as to study their role in building persuasiveness and trust in information content.
The results demonstrate that the choice of lexical markers is determined by their thematic orientation (politics, economics, social sphere). Special attention is paid to institutional markers, modal constructions, and direct quotation means, which play a key role in shaping the perception of credibility. The conclusions emphasize the significance of linguistic markers as tools for ensuring information ecology and transparency of news discourse.
