RUSSIA'S PARTICIPATION IN THE FIRST WORLD WAR: ON THE QUESTION OF RUSSIA'S ROLE IN THE ENTENTE

The article analyzes the actions of Russia during the First World War. Russia, as a member of the Entente, made a lot of efforts to achieve victory for the entire bloc of countries that were members of the Entente. It is emphasized that often Russia's military assistance and its efforts on the Eastern Front were caused by the insistent requests of the allies in the Entente. However, very often, Russian troops suffered heavy losses due to the help of the allies. Even after Russia's withdrawal from the war, Germany continued to keep significant forces in the east, which was beneficial to England and France.
