this work is devoted to the consideration of the specifics of managing a studio of decorative and applied art through a master class. The purpose of the work is to describe the experience of teaching decorative and applied arts to students of the Institute. The article discusses the main tasks of this pedagogical form, the difficulties faced by teachers and students in the process of teaching and studying folk art. The concept of a master class is revealed as a pedagogical system that allows demonstrating new opportunities for the dissemination of pedagogical experience, representing fundamentally developed methods based on their principles and having a certain structure. A significant place in the teaching of decorative and applied art is occupied by the study of folk art, its forms and the transmission of continuity through generations by folk craftsmen, the preservation of identity in the conditions of modern performance. Examples from the developed methods and textbooks are given for a clearer understanding of the definitions of "master class", "folk pedagogy", the mistakes made by students in the process of mastering the material are analyzed. Error analysis and analysis are necessary to help teachers, focus on some educational aspects and avoid repeating mistakes in working with subsequent groups of students.
