In the process of historical development, the Russian ethnos went through several turning points that significantly changed its cultural appearance. At the beginning of the 18th century, the process of secularization of culture entered an active phase in Russia. This was due to imitation of the West, which by that time had formed a completely autonomous model of developing secular culture. The cultural and philosophical transformations that took place in Russia throughout the 18th century had a significant impact on the introduction of the Russian upper class to understanding reality using completely new approaches.
