The article continues the topic of the latest information technologies and the formation of a virtual learning environment for modern learning. Significant changes are taking place in the modern system of higher education, including the distance learning system, due to the widespread use of a number of new educational technologies that generate a virtual educational environment in interaction with humans. Along with humanization, humanitarization, continuous learning and advanced training, personalized learning, competence-based education, socio-emotional learning, such trends as online and blended learning, STEAM-education and the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education are becoming relevant. Virtual departments, laboratories and universities are becoming increasingly developed as components of the virtual distance learning environment at this stage of its development. Modern information technologies provide new opportunities for rethinking pedagogical practices and experience, contribute to the formation of new pedagogical trends closely related to the introduction of AI in the educational process.
