The study relevance is due to the need to adapt traditional forms of education to new conditions, maintain and increase the motor activity of students, as well as prevent physical inactivity and related diseases. The research goal is to systematize the most effective methods of conducting online classes in the discipline «Physical Education» in a modern university, contributing to increasing the motivation of students, improving their physical condition and the formation of sustainable skills of a healthy lifestyle.
The objectives of the study are: to analyze the theoretical and methodological foundations of teaching physical education in higher education in the context of online education; to determine the specifics of organizing and conducting online physical education classes, taking into account the characteristics of the student contingent and the material and technical base available to universities.
Based on the results, the following conclusion was formulated: the effective use of digital tools and online technologies makes it possible to ensure the availability and flexibility of classes, which is especially important for students studying remotely or with disabilities.
