CONTRIBUTION OF JACK CARNOCHAN IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PHONETIC RESEARCH IN GREAT BRITAIN

The article deals with analysis of linguistic and especially phonetic ideas of the British linguist Jack Carnochan, whose contribution into linguistics still remains mostly unknown in Russia. In the article the author gives brief information about biographic data relevant from the point of view of forming his scientific ideas. The basic goal of the article is to characterize linguistic research of Jack Carnochan in the sphere of phonetics.
