The relevance of this study lies in the fact that the training of engineering and technical personnel has a huge impact on both society and the state as a whole. The topic of the article is important to study because of the importance of the formation of engineering and technical personnel in the Chelyabinsk region as a central link in the development of heavy industry, which played a primary place during the war years. It is important to note that the scientific community is interested in the historical experience of the development of training and education of engineering and technical personnel, however, the problem of formation and origin of training of engineering and technical personnel has not been specifically considered. The historiographical analysis indicates that the topic of this study has been insufficiently studied and requires further study and analysis.The purpose of this study is to analyze the origin and formation of engineering and technical personnel in Chelyabinsk during the period from 1920 to 1941. The methodological basis of the research was the principles of historicism, objectivity and reliability. This article will consider the origin and formation of engineering and technical personnel in Chelyabinsk during the period from 1920 to 1941, as well as identify problems in the way of this development and formation.
