This paper is mainly discussing the history of the reinforcement land-defense, which was one of the major preparations for perfection of the Sevastopol’s defensive system. Throughout a long period, the absence of the land-force’s defense was the obvious problem before the assault of the Nazi-German army. As soon as the transformationof the coastal batteries into land-defensive use had been being completed, the engineering troops was continuing the works to build up and reinforce the land-force defensive infrastructure. Main tasks included the establishment of the permanent concrete pillboxes, wooden-earthen works, anti-tank’s entrenchments, mine fields and others. Although the whole tasks before the beginning of the Sevastopol’s defensive battle were not yet completely done, this stage of works showed extreme importance in terms of establishing fundament of the Sevastopol’s defensive system in such difficult situation without the protection of stronghold.
