The article reveals the specifics of the differentiation of the translation of folk proverbs and sayings into Russian and Chinese. The author compares the specifics of translation from a native language to a translated language, taking into account possible changes in some elements and the translator's desire to preserve the general meaning of a proverb or saying.
In the context of this work, both proverbs and sayings are considered not only as linguistic constructs, but also as carriers of a socio-cultural code that is transmitted from generation to generation and, when translated, reflects the content of foreign culture.
The aim of the study is to differentiate the translation of proverbs and sayings into Chinese and Russian. The object of the work is the specifics of translating proverbs and sayings into a foreign language, the subject we have defined proverbs and sayings.
