This paper makes an in-depth analysis of an urgent issue in the field of foreign language teaching – how to improve students ' efficiency of independent work. Based on the literature resources in China National Knowledge Infrastructure ( CNKI ) database, this paper makes a detailed analysis and comparison of the opinions of many scholars. The findings not only show the advantages of the research method, but also point out the challenges in solving this problem.
